Player Profiles
Paul James PJ

PJ is a relatively recent addition to HCC. He was the first player to be produced by the club’s Commonwealth scouting network. Hailing from Melbourne he speaks with a funny accent. Despite that, his commitment to the village is beyond doubt.

The most impressive thing about PJ so far is the manner he has dealt with Dixon. He has adopted a simple, no nonsense, schoolteacherly approach which has been illuminative to all at the club. PJ memorably said to Dixon before the Loose game that he was not allowed to talk for the rest of the day unless he hit a 100 and we all know what happened after that…

Being from Australia his fielding is naturally excellent. He has hands like buckets and he has also introduced the crow hop.

PJ is a hit-the-deck bowler who bowls wicket to wicket at a bustling fast-medium pace. He also generates decent bounce and takes more than his fair share of wickets. He is someone that can always be relied on to bowl with good economy and control when thrown the ball.

He is a decent batsman too. He is a powerful hitter and is capable of some destructive innings.
