Graham Vaughan
Another contender for the Chewbacca Award, Lee O' Sullivan once memorably said of Graham, "he needs to be dry cleaned rather than showered". Graham has more body hair than is generally considered polite or humanly possible. Notwithstanding this impediment, Graham's abilities and run scoring seem to grow each year. He was the club's leading run scorer in the title winning 2007 season and it caused outrage amongst several leading Canterbury tabloids when he was overlooked for the prestigious KVL division 2 player of the year award. Whilst not a bowler Graham's contribution in the field is first rate. His work in the outfield is a vital yet often unnoticed part of the 1s make up. He will frequently roll back the years in the style of his idol, Simply Red's serial love rat Mick Hucknell, and scamper great distances along the boundary before rifling in a perfect throw over the stumps. I hope Graham never goes on holiday during the cricket season. If he did it is highly likely he would be quarantined under the Pet Travel Act as a protection against the import of rabies to the UK and so be unavailable for a prolonged period. Graham is a sobering influence and tonic to several of the 1s more anarchic members, it is a pity that he supports Arsenal.
