Player Profiles
Gavin Dixon Dicko, Gav, LeGav

Gavin is the club's enfant terrible. In many ways he is like Kevin Pietersen; he is explosive with bat, ball, bombast and has a dreadful haircut.

Together with the Blue Falcon he forms the other half of the club's spin attack. Like his mentor the Blue Falcon, Gav turned his hand to bowling spin in 2005. Initially he bowled a crazy mixture of chinamans and slow left arm. However, he has since settled upon bowling orthodox spin and continues to be a major asset to the team. In many ways Gav is like a Boa Constrictor, he suffocates the batsman by starving them of runs and so squeezes the life out of them. He is also prone to bowling bouncers at batters off 2 paces without giving any prior warning to the wicketkeeper.

Gav's fielding errs towards the spectacular. He can frequently be seen taking off somewhere between cover point and cover whilst plucking the ball out of the air a la Erik Thorstvedt. He has a good pair of hands and his ground fielding is solid.

Gav is also capable of some explosive innings. His favourite shot is the one handed swat back over the bowlers head for 6. Quite how he does this with such regularity is beyond me. He forms the other half of the highly effective Dixon: Vaughan opening axis, and in opener I think we have found Gav's best position.

One of the main contenders for the "Mr Toad Award" along with Princess Showler and the Big Boss Man. He has both a deep love of both himself and the village. It has often been said that Gav would rather go out for dinner with a mirror than a girl.
