Chris is one of three Turners to have graced the club with their presence, son of Dave and brother (twin) of Neil. Like all Turner family members, he has been seen adopting almost every role possible in a cricket team, except for, (thankfully and long may it continue) that of bowling spin with any real seriousness. His most memorable (and talked about) innings for the village must be against Beaver, when he beasted his maiden century, losing 4 balls and shattering a fence panel. Occasionally, Chris will also be seen with a ball in hand, bowling what I can only describe as 'some-crazy-out-of-the-back-of-the-hand-medium-pace" stuff, which tends to hit the spot and dry up runs if not take wickets, especially indoors. He has a somewhat notorious relationship with Gavin which once involved a tea time "wrestle", damaging his knee before he had to head out to keep wicket.
Unfortuantely Chris now spends most of his time up in Leicster, scoring a mountain of runs and hobnobbing with the likes of Darren Maddy and Bangledesh Under 19 A-Team rejects, apparently, but he always manages to reappear for Village Tours and Festival games... and in fact any game when there is a bar nomore than 15 meters away from the pitch. |
