Avraj is the most loquacious and confident member of Harbledown Cricket Club, which is some achievement. Like his older brother Arjun, he spends a lot of time practising his guitar playing skills; in due course he will be seen on the boundary’s edge serenading the HCC first team’s WAGs. What neither of them realise is that Princess Showler is secretly the most accomplished guitar player at HCC, by quite a distance. The Singhs to Showler are like Ringo to the rest of the Beatles.
Avraj’s hero is John Mayer and to this end he should be applauded. However, he would be well advised to delve into the ancient blues ramblings of Robert Johnson and T Bone Walker if he wants to become a proper musician.
On the field, Avraj is the club’s mystery spinner. He bowls prodigious leg breaks and also has a good googly and flipper. On occasions he tends to over elaborate and dip into his box of tricks too often. As Richie Benaud said to a young Shane Warne, “you need to bowl your stock ball 90% of the time”. Despite that Avraj has an abundance of talent and it is only a matter of time before it comes to fruition and he usurps TB Falcon’s position as the club’s premier spinner.
Avraj’s batting has also noticeably developed over the last couple of seasons and he is now a decent middle order batter for the second team.
All in all he is a good solid lad and is going to be a very good player in a few years time.
