Awalkhan Adel wildcat

Awalkhan made his debut for the village in the 2008 season. His obvious passion for the game meant he was allowed to side step the usual screening process and seven day boot camp required to gain village membership, also he paid his subs in March. At the pre-season nets he publicly humiliated the second team captain with a series of inswinging yorkers, as if this wasn't enough, he continued the poor skippers demoralisation by carting him about the place with a series of slog sweeps. Naturally, this assured him instant selection.

Awalkhan is primarily considered a bowler, who tends to occupy the role of first change for the twos, though certainly would not look out of place with the new ball. His natural pace and swing led to his appearance for the firsts on several occasions. Although his natural talent lies with the ball, Awalkhan arguably is the best timer of the ball in the twos.. Amoungst all of his first season achievements Awalkhan also challenges Nat for the highest strike rate to lowest amount of runs scored ratio and I do believe out of the two of them struck the most sixes.

There are far too many promising things to say about this young gentleman, he shows natural ability in all areas of the game, his catching ability is nothing short of stunning and is one of the most uncomplicated yet entertaining batsmen I have seen in KVL. All in all Awalkhan was very unlucky not to recieve the Second team player of the year award for 2008 and it will require something special to keep him off it in 2009.
